To elevate the customer experience in their Östermalm, Stockholm showroom, Mood Nordic installed a custom designed sound system and fragrance marketing solution, seamlessly enhancing the ambiance to match Marbodal’s sophisticated brand identity.

ABOUT THE SHOWROOM

Located on Birger Jarlsgatan, Marbodal’s Östermalm showroom sits in one of Stockholm’s most prestigious neighborhoods. Surrounded by high-end shops, design stores, and affluent clientele, this location positions the brand at the heart of the city’s prime residential and commercial area. The initial experience customers have when visiting this showroom sets the tone for their buying journey and their relationship with the brand as a whole.

With 100 years of history in the Swedish kitchen market, Marbodal has always prioritized sustainable design. Founded in 1924 during a pivotal era of Swedish architecture, the company remains committed to crafting kitchens that are stylish, durable, and eco-friendly. As Marbodal approaches its centennial, their philosophy of sustainable design continues to drive the brand forward in this timeless, affluent setting.

THE CHALLENGE

Store owner, Otto Melander Öhrnell, wanted to enrich the showroom experience by incorporating music and fragrance to create a welcoming and luxurious environment for his customers. The showroom was too quiet, and Otto needed background music that resonated with his brand while being soft enough for consultations.

The sound system had to fill the space effectively while maintaining low volume and clarity. Additionally, the showroom’s historical building posed a challenge, as in-wall or in-ceiling cabling was not possible. Otto also desired a discreet scent solution to enhance the ambiance with a luxurious and sophisticated fragrance throughout the entire space.

THE APPROACH

Mood Nordic took on the challenge by installing high-quality, Swedish-made Audio Pro speakers into existing track light rails. We selected sleek white speaker models to blend seamlessly with the showroom’s lighting fixtures. Given the showroom’s complex layout with various elevations, each speaker was carefully tuned to ensure even volume across the space using AudioPro’s wireless control technology. The curated music programming features feel-good, mainstream pop hits, designed to uplift the mood without overpowering the environment.

For the fragrance installation, we placed a discreet white scent device near the entrance, positioned to create an immediate welcoming effect. Additional devices were mounted strategically around the showroom to allow the fragrance to permeate subtly and evenly, reinforcing a luxurious and pleasant atmosphere that represents the brand.

THE RESULTS

Otto expressed his satisfaction with the sound and fragrance installations, noting how much more inviting the showroom feels. He praised Mood Nordic’s attention to detail and plans to work with us again for future store expansions. The enhanced sensory experience has successfully elevated Marbodal’s showroom, aligning with the brand’s high-end positioning and commitment to customer satisfaction.
