Lotus, a British automaker with a rich history of innovation and high-performance sports cars since 1948, is celebrated for its engineering and design excellence.

To enhance their showrooms in select European cities, Lotus partnered with Mood to create immersive brand experience centers. These centers utilize cutting-edge audiovisual concepts that reflect the craftsmanship of Lotus and invite customers to explore the brand’s legacy in an engaging, dynamic environment.

Mood: Nordic delivered this experience at the highest level for the showroom in Oslo, Norway.

Lotus, a legendary British automaker founded in 1948, is renowned for its lightweight, high-performance sports cars and engineering innovation. Over the decades, Lotus has built a reputation for producing vehicles that excel on both the road and the racetrack, combining precision handling with sleek design. Lotus Oslo, as part of the exclusive rollout of brand experience centers in Europe, captures this spirit by offering an immersive showroom experience. With state-of-the-art audiovisual elements, the showroom invites visitors to explore the rich heritage, craftsmanship, and cutting-edge technology that define the Lotus brand.

OUR CHALLENGE

Mood Nordic was tasked with transforming their Oslo showroom into a cutting-edge “brand experience center.” The primary challenge was to create an immersive, engaging environment that not only showcased Lotus vehicles but also deeply connected customers with the brand’s innovative and luxurious identity.

The existing showroom was functional but lacked the dynamic elements necessary to highlight the sophistication and performance of Lotus vehicles. The goal was to redesign the space to offer an interactive and memorable experience that would captivate visitors and reflect Lotus’s commitment to excellence.

OUR APPROACH

To address these challenges, Mood Nordic implemented a multi-faceted strategy that leveraged advanced technology and creative design. Our approach focused on three key areas: creating immersive content, designing engaging physical spaces, and integrating cutting-edge technology.

Immersive Content Creation:

  • Hero Wall: We designed a prominent wall and ceiling LED setup that initiates the customer journey from outside the showroom. This feature uses compelling content to showcase hero models and draw customers into the experience center.
  • Entrance Projection: A static projection of the Lotus logo on the floor immediately immerses visitors in the Lotus brand upon entry.
  • Wayfinder: A UHD portrait screen with looped content welcomes customers and guides them through the experience center.

Innovative Physical Design:

  • Screen Arrays: We integrated three-dimensional matched LED walls and large screens to provide an intimate driving experience and expanded viewing for others in the showroom.
  • Silent Sales Person: Adjacent to each car, a 24” display provides detailed information about the model, enhancing customer engagement without disrupting the showroom ambiance.
  • Bar Wall: A screen array showcases future models and relevant content, keeping visitors informed and excited about upcoming releases.

Interactive Technology:

  • Configurator Desktops: Interactive displays allow customers to configure their dream Lotus automobiles, offering a personalized and engaging experience.
  • Partner Screen: Activated by picking up an RC model, this screen highlights the story and journey of the selected car model.
  • Future Ready: An interactive screen with touch capabilities provides a glimpse into the future of Lotus cars, engaging customers with upcoming innovations.
  • Configurator Wall: A 110” LCD display connected to the Car Configurator PC offers a dynamic, one-on-one experience for detailed car configurations.
  • Configurator Display: A 43” in-table touch screen allows customers or staff to configure car selections in real-time.
  • Definition Wall: Three portrait screens driven by the Car Configurator provide detailed insights into the materials and craftsmanship of Lotus vehicles.

Audio Experience: A well-balanced, clear audio experience of background music is maintained throughout the store with strategically placed loudspeakers, providing a dynamic auditory environment that complements the visual elements.

Scent Experience: To complete the sensory experience, a custom fragrance was introduced to the showroom to create a luxurious sophisticated ambiance that invokes emotional connection at the moment you walk in. 

THE RESULTS

The transformation of the Lotus Oslo showroom has achieved outstanding results. The immersive and interactive elements have significantly increased customer interaction and time spent on the sales floor. Visitors are more engaged and connected with the Lotus brand through the innovative displays and personalized content.

The showroom redesign has reinforced Lotus’s image as a leader in innovation and luxury. The integration of advanced technology and engaging design has elevated the brand’s presence and appeal. Both customers and Lotus representatives have praised the new showroom. The engaging features and interactive elements have received high marks for creating a memorable and impactful brand experience.
