To enhance the customer experience in their showroom in Östermalm, Stockholm, Mood Nordic installed a custom-designed sound system and scent marketing solution - seamlessly enhancing the atmosphere and reflecting Marbodal's sophisticated brand identity.

The showroom on Birger Jarlsgatan is located in the middle of one of Stockholm's most exclusive areas. Surrounded by designer boutiques, luxury shops and a high street clientele, Marbodal is located in the heart of the city's prime residential and commercial district. The first impression customers get when visiting this showroom sets the tone for the whole buying journey and relationship with the brand.
With 100 years of experience in the Swedish kitchen market, Marbodal has always put sustainable design at the forefront. Founded in 1924, during a pivotal period for Swedish architecture, the company remains committed to creating kitchens that are stylish, sustainable and environmentally friendly. As Marbodal approaches its centenary, the philosophy of sustainable design continues to drive the brand forward in this timeless and exclusive setting.
OUR CHALLENGE
Store owner Otto Melander Öhrnell wanted to enhance the showroom experience by introducing both music and scent to create a welcoming and luxurious environment for his customers. The showroom was too quiet, and Otto needed background music that was consistent with the brand but low-key enough to allow for conversations and consultations.
The sound system needed to fill the room effectively while maintaining low volume and clear sound quality. In addition, the showroom's historic building presented a challenge, as it was not possible to run cables through the walls or ceiling. Otto also wanted a discreet fragrance solution that could spread a luxurious and sophisticated scent throughout the space.
OUR APPROACH
Mood Nordic took on the challenge by installing high-quality, Swedish-made speakers from Audio Pro in the existing lighting tracks. We chose stylish white speakers that blend in with the showroom's light fixtures. Given the complex layout and different levels of the venue, each speaker was fine-tuned to ensure consistent volume throughout the space using AudioPro's wireless control technology. Music programming consists of a carefully selected mix of feel-good and popular hits, created to raise the mood without taking over the environment.
For the scent installation, a discreet white diffuser was placed at the entrance, strategically designed to give an immediate welcoming impression. Additional units were mounted at selected locations around the showroom, allowing the scent to spread subtly and evenly - thus enhancing the luxurious and welcoming atmosphere that characterizes the brand.

THE OUTCOME
Otto expressed his appreciation for both the sound and scent installations and noted how much more inviting the showroom feels. He praised Mood Nordic's attention to detail and plans to work with us again on future store expansions. The enhanced sensory experience has successfully elevated the Marbodal showroom and is fully in line with the brand's premium positioning and focus on customer satisfaction.
